Jamey Jesperson is a non-binary transfemme educator, activist, and researcher based in New York City. In 2016, they completed their degree in Global Gender Studies at The New School after researching queer activist movements across the globe with a critical focus on trans and intersex rights, anti-racism, and decolonization. Following graduation, Jamey joined the Trans Identity Formation Study (TIFS) lab at NYU researching the development of trans identities throughout the life course, and started working full-time as the Education Associate at GLSEN--the leading education organization fostering safe and affirming schools for LGBTQ youth. Jamey’s work in GLSEN’s Education Department is supporting classroom educators around inclusive curriculum implementation and helping manage GLSEN’s national Professional Development training program for school staff.
