Alex is a queer, gender fluid, latinx, single parent facilitator and educator. Alex is also an aspiring MSW student as their passion lies at looking at how systems of oppression negatively impact the mental health of marginalized people, particularly QTPOC. Currently their time is spent facilitating the first Gender and Sexualities Alliance at East Harlem Scholars Academy as well as co-facilitating antiracism workshops with the staff members. In their spare time, you can find Alex on Instagram with their mental health advocacy page @cuzimagemini where they share various self-care strategies, body positivity, discussion on how xenophobia is a mental health issue, parenting advice, as well as some tarot and other practices to help folx support their mental health in positive and affirming ways.
